Kore II
General Children's Hospital 'Aglaia Kyriakou'
InstalledThe work & its setting
This over-life-size bust stands at the entrance of one of the largest children’s hospitals in Greece. Sofia Petrides posed for the work, which was installed on its permanent base in front of the Children’s Hospital ‘Aglaia Kyriakou’ in Athens.
The Kore series has become one of Petrides’ most widely placed bodies of work. A variant, Kore III, is installed in the lobby of the Permanent Mission of Greece to the United Nations, while another Kore II is part of the Hellenic Heads exhibition in Berlin, which opened on 9 September 2026 as the eighth and final stop of the tour.
